Alexandre Bagrintsev was born in Minsk, Belarus where he started to play the cello at the age of 6 in the class of professor Vladimir Perlin.
In 1984 he won Heran International Cello Competition in Czech Republic (Grand Prix) and two years later the National competition of Belarus.
In 1990 Alexandre Bagrintsev moved to Berlin, Germany to study with Prof. Markus Nyikos and some years later continued his study in Hamburg with Prof. Wolfgang Mehlhorn. During that time he started playing in the Kammerphilharmonie of the SHMF as solo cellist. From 1995 – co-founder and solo cellist in Philharmonie der Nationen. With this orchestra he played in Europe, Japan, China, Russia, Usa, Israel, Turkey South Africa also as the soloist.
He worked over 30 years with the most famous conductors and soloists: Mstislav Rostropovich, Sir Georg Solti, Lorin Mazel, Valery Gergiev, Paavo Järvi, Semyon Bychkov, Yehudi Menuhin, Christoph Eschenbach, Plácido Domingo, Monserrat Caballé, Anna Netrebko, Cecilia Bartoli, Ewgenij Kissin, Maxim Vengerov, Misha Maisky, Vadim Repin, Mario Brunello, Boris Pergamenschikow.
In present, Alexandre develops a chamber music career, also being a Principal Cellist at Wurth Symphony Orchestra in Germany.
