Alexandru Anastasiu este un virtuoz al vibrafonului și unul dintre cei mai apreciați instrumentiști din România.
Nascut în 1979, a absolvit cursurile Universității Naționale de Muzică București – secția Percuție și pe cele ale Internationale Sommerakademie Universitat Mozarteum din Salzburg.
În anul 1999 accede în semifinala Concursului Internațional de Vibrafon de la Clermont-Ferrand, iar doi ani mai târziu (2001), câștigă Bursa Yamaha pentru instrumente de percuție. Printre alte premii câștigate se numără premiul Fundației Soros pentru întreaga activitate din 1998 împreună cu ansamblul de percuție GAME și premiul “Revelația anului 2009” al Galei de Jazz, oferit de Fundația Muzza.
Alexandru Anastasiu a participat la numeroase festivaluri, precum Festivalul International de Jazz Bucuresti (2004, 2005, 2006), Festivalul de muzică contemporană „Săptămâna Internațională a Muzicii Noi” (1998, 2000, 2008, alături de ansamblul de percuție GAME), Festivalul International „George Enescu” (1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, în calitate de membru al Orchestrei Naționale Radio).
În plus, este inițiator și organizator al Festivalului Internațional de Vibrafon (prima editie a avut loc în martie 2012 la București).
În prezent este angajat al Orchestrei Naționale Radio (din 2003) și colaborator în diferite formații de jazz (Marius Popp Band, Nicolas Simion and the Wild Dogs, Andreea Pauta Band).
Din 2012 este profesor în cadrul Academiei ICon Arts, sectia de Percuție.

Alexandru Anastasiu is a vibraphone virtuoso and one of the most valuable instrumental performers of Romania.
Born in 1979, he is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, specialised in percussion, and of the Internationale Sommerakademie Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg.
In 1999, he reached the semi-finals in the International Vibraphone Competition of Cermont-Ferrand and two years late, in 2001, he won the Yamaha Scholarship for percussion instruments. Among others, we can mention the career achievement award from the Soros Foundation obtained as part of the GAME percussion ensemble and the “Revelation of the Year” award in the Jazz Gala organised by the Muzza Foundation.
Alexandru Anastasiu participated in numerous festivals, such as the International Jazz Festival in Bucharest (2004, 2005, 2006), the Contemporary Music Festival “International Week of New Music” (1998, 2000, 2008, with the percussion ensemble GAME), George Enescu International Festival (1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, as member of the National Radio Orchestra). Moreover, he is the founder of the International Vibraphone Festival (the first edition took place in 2012 in Bucharest).
At present, he is a member of the National Radio Orchestra (since 2003) and a contributor in various jazz groups (Marius Popp Band, Nicolas Simion and the Wild Dogs, Andreea Pauta Band).
Since 2012, he is a mentor within the ICon Arts Academy, in the percussion section.
